Vision

The primary vision of MOWZES is to conduct research to identify and implement solutions that transform work zone safety. The MOWZES activities are aligned with the Promoting Safety statutory research priority area of the US DOT and MoDOT’s Show-Me Zero initiative. MOWZES will support research that spans from exploratory to practice ready. Researchers will identify the level of readiness for implementation of technologies, tools, and guidelines developed in MOWZES projects to help stakeholders understand the maturity of the developed products. We will lead efforts in four cross-cutting multimodal themes of Emerging Technologies, Data and Tools, Worker Safety, and Vulnerable Road Users.
